Georgia Deep Dish Peach Pie

This pie recipe for from 1974 is a delicious way to use peaches! For the crust you can either make your own or use a pre-made pastry dough. Please consider leaving a picture or comment if you decide to try this recipe!

Pastry pie crust
4 cups Firm ripe peaches      View Available Products
1 cup Brown sugar
2 tablespoons Flour      View Available Products
2 tablespoons Butter      View Available Products
3/4 cup Water
1 Thickly sliced lemon rind and all
Vanilla ice cream as a side or topping      View Available Products
And a good cup of coffee      View Available Products

Step by Step Instructions
  1. Grease the baking pan and line it with pastry and put in the peaches. In a saucepan mix the flour, sugar butter, water, and lemon.
  2. Bring the contents of the saucepan to a boil and pour it over the peaches. Roll the remaining pastry dough 1/4 inch thick and cut out circles with a biscuit cutter.
  3. Slit a piece in the center of each circle and place them atop the peaches. The slices should overlap, but still allow steam to escape. Bake for about 40 minutes. Pairs well with both ice cream and coffee.
