Buttermilk Sweet Potato Pie

Ingredients
1 cup Baked sweet potato puree      View Available Products
Zest from 1 orange      View Available Products
1 1/2 cups Sugar
2 Eggs      View Available Products
1 cup Buttermilk      View Available Products
3 tablespoons Finely ground cornmeal      View Available Products
1 tablespoon Vanilla extract
1/4 cup Melted butter      View Available Products
1/4 teaspoon Grated nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Ginger
1 Unbaked pie shell
Whipped cream for serving (if desired)      View Available Products
Additional citrus zest for serving (if desired)      View Available Products

Step by Step Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 and prepare a pie plate with the pie dough.
  2. Combine the sweet potato puree, orange zest, sugar, eggs, buttermilk, cornmeal, vanilla extract, melted butter, nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger in a large bowl and mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the mix into the pie shell. Bake for 80 to 90 minutes, let cool, and chill until ready to use. If desired, serve with whipped cream and citrus zest.
