I used these guidelines to make a batch of food that would provide about a two week supply for my 50-lb dog, served twice-a-day along with half a cup of dry food. Use any combination of quality ingredients, striving for the same kind of balance and variation you want in your own food. I recommend you talk with your vet and look for recipes on line.
I cook meat, veggies, and rice separately, then combine into baking pan and cook like a casserole to achieve firmer consistency.
Eliminate or minimize onion and garlic as they can be toxic to some dogs.

This recipe is a great way to make stock for cooking if you find that prepackaged store bought stock is, well, out of stock! Though it does take longer to cook and prepare, you’ll likely find it’s far more flavorful and healthier since you’ll have direct control over its ingredients.
