Aged Balsamic-18 years. Terra Dolce Farms is a small grower near Lyons, Georgia producing 100% Georgia Grown Olive Oil. In 2016, we partnered with a producer of balsamic vinegar near Modena, Italy, to offer this delightful accompaniment to our oil. Balsamic vinegar has a long history beginning in 1046 when the Holy Roman Emperor Henry III was given a bottle while passing through the province of Emilia-Romagna. Because balsamic vinegar can only be produced in this region, we have it imported regularly to our farm where we bottle it just for you. Balsamic vinegar is produced from the grape must of a sweet, late-harvest grape. It is cooked and then left to ferment anywhere from three weeks to 20 years in aging barrels. This process allows the producer to achieve a variety of flavors from simple to complex. Terra Dolce Farms Balsamic Vinegar is a customer favorite that has been aged 18 years using traditional Italian methods. It has a slightly sweet flavor, rich dark-brown appearance and nice viscosity suitable for drizzling over salads, vegetables, fruit and even ice cream. It also makes a terrific marinade for grilled meats. Our favorite way to enjoy it is with fresh, crusty bread alongside Terra Dolce Olive Oil.
