A question we get each year is “What are scuppernongs and muscadines?” The answer: a hearty species of grapes native to the southeastern US. Scuppernongs are a subtype of muscadines. Muscadines and Scuppernongs are both packed with fiber and antioxidants!
Some seasonal recipes for these gorgeous grapes are:
- Muscadine Salsa (you can of course add or substitute your favorite kinds of peppers and tomatoes to the recipe)
- For an elegant dish, try Lamb Chops with Rosemary and Grape Sauce (which uses fresh local produce and newly available cuts of lamb)
- And finally, Pear Waldorf Pitas use pears, grapes, nuts, and lettuce to make a tasty vegetarian party snack!
